Quilteya — Privacy Policy

Quilteya ("we", "us") is a quilt design app. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we store your account and the designs you create so they're available on your devices, we don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use analytics or tracking.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, a username you choose, and an optional profile photo or avatar colour. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from them to create your account.
• Things you create — quilt blocks, colour palettes, textures, projects, project notes, deadlines and supply checklists. These are stored with your account so you don't lose them.
• Fabric photos — photos you take of your fabrics are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers. Camera and photo-library access is used only when you add a fabric, and only for that purpose.

We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifiers or browsing history, and the app contains no advertising or analytics libraries. The Facebook software used for sign-in has its tracking features switched off.

2. How we use it

• To create your account and keep you signed in.
• To save your designs and projects and show them to you in the app.
• To show deadline reminders you asked for — these are scheduled on your device; no reminder data leaves your phone.
• To answer you when you contact support.

Under EU law (GDPR), our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the app), your consent (reminders, optional photos), and legitimate interests (keeping accounts secure).

3. Where your data lives

Account details and your designs are stored in Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), encrypted in transit and at rest. Google's servers may be located outside your country; such transfers are protected by recognised safeguards including the EU standard contractual clauses that Google offers.

4. Who we share it with

We never sell your information. It is shared only with:

• Google (Firebase) — our infrastructure provider, which processes data on our behalf.
• Google Sign-In / Meta (Facebook Login) — only if you choose to sign in with them; their handling of your sign-in is governed by their own privacy policies.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

Anything you share from the app (for example a picture of your quilt sent via the share sheet) goes only where you choose to send it.

5. How long we keep it, and deleting your account

Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app — Profile → Account & security → Delete account — which permanently removes your account, blocks, palettes, textures and projects from our servers. You can also request deletion by email: see Delete your account. We keep no copies after deletion, apart from short-lived backups that expire automatically.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, restrict or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent at any time. If you're in the EU/EEA you can also complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise any right, email us at the address below.

7. Children

Quilteya is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
